Levy and collection of cess.- (1) There shall be levied and collected one time CESS at the time of vehicle registration, at such rate, 1[XXX]1 as may be notified, by the State Government. Different rates may be levied for different class of motor vehicles. (2) Every notification issued under sub section (1) shall be laid before each house of the State Legislature. (3) The registration Authority shall at the time of registration collect the cess so levied and remit the same to the Karnataka Road Safety fund, in such manner as may be prescribed.
