Authorised Officer.- (1) The State Government may by notification appoint one or more persons in respect of any area or areas to be authorised officers for the purpose of this Act. (2) Every authorised officer appointed under sub-section (1) shall be deemed to be a public servant within the meaning of section 21 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (Central Act 45 of 1860).
