Delegation of powers of Municipal Commissioner.—(1) With the sanction of the municipal council, the Municipal Commissioner may by general or special order in writing delegate to any municipal officer or servant, any of the Municipal Commissioner’s powers, duties or functions under this Act or under any rule or bye-law made thereunder except such as are conferred or imposed upon vested in him under the following sections, namely, 256, 276 and 342. (2) The exercise or discharge by any municipal officer or servant of any powers, duties or functions delegated to him under sub-section (1) shall be subject to such conditions and limitations, if any, as may be specified in the said order and also to the control of and revision by the Municipal Commissioner.
