Honoraria, fees or allowances.- (1) The honoraria, fees or allowances, as may be determined by the Government shall be paid to the Mayor, the Deputy Mayor and the Councillors from the City Corporation fund. (2) The City Corporation shall place at the disposal of the Mayor annually by way of sumptuary allowance such sum not exceeding the limit as may be prescribed. (3) Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act the receipt of honorarium, fee or allowance as Mayor, Deputy Mayor or Councillor as aforesaid by any person shall not disqualify him from being elected as or for being a Councillor.
