Constitution of monitoring committees.- (1) In each district, the District Magistrate shall set up a monitoring committee to review the implementation of the provisions of the Act, relief and rehabilitation facilities provided to the victims and other matters connected therewith, prosecution of cases under the Act, role of different officers/agencies responsible for implementing the provisions of the Act and various reports received by the District Administration. (2) The district-level monitoring committee shall consist of Superintendent of Police, three Group ‘A’ officers/ Gazetted officers of the State Government and three members having association with non- Government Organizations. (3) The District-level committee shall meet at least once in three months. (4) The State Government shall take all measures as may be necessary for the effective implementation of this Act. Such measures may include,- (i) The provision for adequate facilities, including legal aid, to the persons subjected to honour crimes to enable them to avail themselves of justice; (ii) provision for a periodic survey of the working of the provisions of this Act with a view to suggesting measures for the better implementation of the provision of this Act.
