The overall control of development and the use of land in the planning area shall, as from the date of publication in the official Gazette of a notification by the State Government, vest in the Director. 26.(1)After coming into force of the development plan, the use and development of land shall conform to the provisions of the development plan: Provided that the Director may, at his discretion, permit the continued use of land for the purpose for which it was being used at the time of the coming into operation of the development plan; Provided further that such permission shall not be granted for a period exceeding seven years from the date of coming into operation of the development plan. * As amended vide Himachal Pradesh Town and Country Planning (Amendment) Act 2013 (Act No. 41 of 2013).
