Section 18

Term of office

Term of office.- (1) The non-official members shall hold office of the Council for a period of two years from the date of their appointment and they shall be eligible for re-appointment. (2) If the Government considers that the continuance in office of any non-official member is not in the interest of the Council, the Government may make an order terminating his term and thereupon, he shall cease to be a member of the Council notwithstanding the fact that the term to which he was nominated has not expired. (3) Any non-official member of the Council may resign his office by a letter addressed to the Chairman and the resignation shall take effect from the date of acceptance of his resignation by the Chairman.
