Penalty.-If any Society or any person, referred to in section 35 or 38, entrusted with the management of affairs of a Society, is required to furnish any information or return— (i) wilfully refuses or without lawful excuse neglects to furnish such information or return which it knows, to be false; or (ii) wilfully furnishes or causes to be furnished any information or return which it knows, to be false; or (iii) refuses to answer or wilfully gives a false answer to any question necessary for obtaining any information required to be furnished under relevant section, shall, on conviction, be punished with fine which may extend to two thousand rupees for each such offence.
