Recognition of Meritorious Service.- The State Government shall, with the approval of the State Police Board, frame a scheme for recognition of Non-Gazetted and Gazetted Police Officers who have done exceptionally meritorious work or who have shown devotion to duty of the highest order, and the State Police Board shall, every year recommend to the State Government names of suitable Police Officers for public recognition in accordance with the provisions of the scheme.
