Notification of intention of developing and regulating the marketing of notified agricultural produce.- (1) The State Government on its own or on the representation made by the growers or on the recommendation of the Board may, by notification, declare its intention of exercising control over the purchase, storage, processing and sale of such agricultural produce, in such area as may be specified in the notification, by inviting objections or suggestions from the general public within a period of thirty days from the date of publication of notification which shall be considered by it. (2) After the expiry of the period specified in the notification issued under sub-section (1), and after considering objections and suggestions, if any, received before the expiry of the specified period, and after making such inquiry, as may be necessary, the State Government may by notification, declare the area specified in the notification, or any portion thereof to be a market area for the purpose of this Act and that marketing of all or any of the kinds of agricultural produce specified in the notification shall be developed and regulated in such market area in accordance with the provisions of this Act.
