(1) Director shall be appointed by the Chancellor on the recommendations of the Government having following qualifications and experience:- (a) A basic recognized medical qualification included in the Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (Central Act 102 of 1956). (b) MD/MS/DM/MCh or equivalent qualification recognized by the Medical Council of India in any specialty. (c) Minimum of ten year’s teaching experience as professor/associate professor/reader in a medical college/institution. Out of which atleast five years should be as professor in a department. Preference for these appointments may be given to the Heads of the Departments. (d) He shall not be below the age of fifty years and shall not hold office on attaining the age of sixty five years. (e) Minimum qualifications will be subject to change as prescribed by the MCI. (2) The Director shall be the administrative head of Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College, Karnal, and thus will exercise the powers and duties related to the administration of Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College, Karnal and other such duties as prescribed by the Statutes or given by the Executive Council from time to time. (3) Suitable remuneration shall be attached to the office of the Director.
