Executive Officers visiting at night shall ensure that the guarding personnel on duty are on the alert, moving on their beats and that the light is kept brightly lit. The time of the visit shall not be made known beforehand. The date of the visit, the hour of entering and leaving the prison and a report of any unusual occurrence that comes under observation, shall be recorded in a book which shall be provided for the purpose at the main gate. The gate-keeper shall produce it before the Superintendent on his arrival at the prison in the morning. Opening wards at night and precaution to be taken.
