(1) The gate–keeper shall be furnished with a list of all official and non-official visitors who are entitled to enter the prison and shall admit such person(s) on their presenting themselves for admission. He shall not admit any one else except the staff members who are authorized to enter unless a written order has been issued by or the visitor is accompanied by the Superintendent or the Director General. (2) Under no circumstances the gate-keeper shall allow any person to enter the prison after lockup, except for, - (a) staff members who have legitimate duty to attend to during these hours; (b) for surprise night rounds by the officers of the prison. (3) The prisoners who are returning from court appearance shall be allowed to enter the prison during night lockup hours after due verification by the duty officer. Officers ordinarily exempt from being searched.
