(1) Pamphlets containing the rights, duties, entitlements, discipline and daily routine of prisoners shall be printed and distributed to enable the prisoners to follow the 'dos' and 'don'ts' and maintain discipline during his confinement. (2) The above literature shall also be kept in the prison library and issued to prisoners who can read. Illiterate prisoners shall be explained the guidelines by the staff members themselves or with the help of other literate prisoners engaged for educational programs. Canteen facility. 550. (1) Every prison shall have canteen facility with adequate stock of daily needs and other essentials for the prisoners.
