The educational program shall consist of, - (a) physical and health education including physical exercises, yoga, health and personal hygiene; (b) academic education including adult literacy by way of instruction in primary and high school grade subjects; (c) social education which shall include instruction in civics, and basic legal framework on which the society operates like gram panchayats, co-operation, etc.; (d) vocational education i.e. training in different trades aimed at skill addition/enhancement enabling the prisoner to become part of the regular workforce in society; (e) moral and spiritual education, meditation, group prayers, reading of selected works of literature dealing with ethics, moral values, etc.; (f) Cultural education including organization of cultural programs with the effective participation of inmates.
