(1) Every prisoner suffering from any disease shall be brought under medical treatment or observation, either as an out-patient or as an in–patient and his name shall be recorded in the appropriate register. (2) No prisoner shall be detained in hospital for more than 04 hours under medical observation without being brought on the hospital register i.e. if it is necessary to detain him for a longer period, he must be admitted. (3) Out-patient services shall be provided to prisoners from Monday to Saturday, whereas emergency services shall be available 24*7. (4) The Medical Officer (In charge) shall pay daily visit to all the sick prisoners in hospital and those under observation. (5) He shall decide whether any prisoner shall be admitted into or discharged from hospital. Bed-head tickets and referral to outside hospitals.
