(1) The Medical Officer may order such extra articles of diet to sick prisoners, children, feeding mothers, old aged or prisoners in a convalescent group as may, in his opinion, appear to be necessary and to fix the hours at which the food is to be distributed. (2) No extra diet shall be sanctioned for more than fourteen days at a stretch except for special reasons to be recorded by the Medical Officer in charge in his journal. (3) The control of diet of a prisoner in the hospital shall be the responsibility of the Medical Officer in charge and he may order such extras, as he considers necessary.
