Upon receipt of the court order for production of a prisoner, the Superintendent of the prison in which the prisoner named therein is confined, subject to the provisions of rule 268 above, shall cause him to be taken to the court in which his attendance is required, to be present in such court at the time mentioned in such order, and shall cause him to be detained in custody in or near the court until he has been examined or until the Judge or the presiding officer of the court authorizes him to be taken back to the prison in which he was confined.
