(1) A prison official shall accompany prisoners on transfer when their number exceeds twenty. The Government property, documents and personal effects sent with the prisoners shall be in his charge. (2) The Deputy Superintendent (Administration) shall satisfy himself before the prisoner leaves the prison that all necessary arrangements have been made to provide them with the means of water supply, food, etc. while en route, and that the prison officials understand their duties in this connection.
