(1) No prisoner shall be admitted into any prison otherwise than under a lawful writ, warrant, or order of commitment addressed to the Superintendent, issued by a competent court, judicial tribunal, or any other competent authority, and unless accompanied by the following documents:- (a) a warrant in the prescribed form, as issued by the competent authority; (b) every conviction warrant shall be accompanied with the copy of judgment and order on quantum of sentence passed by the Court concerned; (c) identification roll (with the photograph) containing at least two specific permanent identification marks and names of close relatives. (2) There shall be a separate warrant for every prisoner, even if two or more prisoners have been jointly charged.
