Every person desiring to hold an interview shall furnish his identity proof and present himself to be searched and photographed. His signature/biometrics may also be obtained electronically or on the interview register. However, due care shall be taken to ensure that no such search shall be made in the presence of any prisoner or any person other than the prison staff. During a search, if any prohibited article is found, the same shall be seized forthwith and the Superintendentshall initiate appropriate legal action against that person.In the case of a female visitor, such search shall be conducted by a female staff member. If the visitor refuses to submit to be searched or to give his name or address or to be photographed, he shall not be permitted to enter the prison premises or to interview the prisoner.
