(1) The Superintendent is authorized to receive fines tendered at the prison. In the absence of the Superintendent, the Deputy Superintendent (Administration) shall receive the fine or portion thereof tendered to him and shall on the first opportunity produce the warrant, with any entry of the fact that such payment has been made, for the signature of the Superintendent. (2) Fines received at the prison shall without delay be remitted into the local treasury under the appropriate head of account. All fines tendered to prison shall be received irrespective of the fact whether the prisoner is due for release or not: Provided that the prisoner is confined in the prison in which the fine is paid. (3) The imprisonment which is imposed in default of payment of a fine shall terminate whenever that fine is either paid or recovered by process of law. Liability of prisoner for payment of fine.
