Powers of Government to dissolve in case of incompetency, persistent default or abuse of power: If a Panchayat Samiti is not competent to perform or persistently makes default in the performance of the duties imposed upon it by or under this or any other Act for the time being in force or exceeds or abuses its powers, the Government may suo motu or on a report received in this behalf and after giving an opportunity to the Panchayat Samiti concerned to show cause why such a order should not be made, by notification, dissolve such Panchayat Samiti.
