Suspension & Removal of Members:- (1) The Government may, during the course of any inquiry suspend a member, Vice Chairman or Chairman as the case may be, of a Panchayat Samiti or any of the reasons for which he can be removed and debar him from taking part in any act or proceedings of the said body, during the inquiry: Provided that the suspension period of a member, Vice Chairman or Chairman as the case may be shall not exceed six months from the date of issuance of suspension order. (2) The Government may, after such inquiry as it may deem fit, remove any member, Vice Chairman or Chairman, as the case may be, who in the opinion of the Government has been guilty of misconduct in the discharge of his duties. (3) A person who has been removed under sub-section (2) may be disqualified for re- election for such period not exceeding five years as the Government may fix.
