Notice of accidents : (1) Whoever in contravention of the provision of sub-section (1) of section 23 fails to give notice of any accidental occurrence or to post a copy of the notice on the special notice board referred to in that sub-section and to keep in there for the period specified shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three months, or with fine which may extend to five hundred rupee or with both. (2) Whoever in contravention of a direction made by the Central Government under sub­ section (3) falls to record in the prescribed register to give notice of any accidental occurrence shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three months or with fine which may extend to three months or with fine which may extend to five hundred rupees, or with both.
