(1) The 2[Director], or Collector or any Prohibition Offi cer specially empowered in this behalf by the 1[State] Government or a Police Offi cer may, by order require any person to furnish to any specifi ed authority or person any such information in his possession concerning any intoxicant, hemp, mhowra fl owers or molasses as may be specifi ed in the order. (2) If any person fails to furnish any information in compliance with the order made under sub-section (1) or furnishes false information, he shall, on conviction, be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months or with fi ne which may extend to fi ve hundred rupees or with both.
