(1) All appointment to teaching and non-teaching posts shall be made by the Board on the recommendations of the Selection Committee. (2) The Director General may, where he considers necessary, make an ad-hoc or temporary appointment for a period not exceeding six months, if it is not possible or desirable to make regular appointment. (3) Special mode of appointment: Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act, The Director General may invite a person of high academic distinction and professional attainments to accept a post of professor in the University, on such terms and conditions, as it may deem fit and on the person agreeing to do so, appoint him/her to the post.
