Subject to the provision of this Act and the regulations, the Academic Council shall have the following powers, namely:- Academic Council. Powers and functions of Academic Council. 26-14 GUJARAT GOVERNMENT GAZETTE, EX. 20-10-2021 [ PART IV (1) to exercise control over the academic policies of the University and be responsible for the maintenance and improvement of standards of instruction, skill development and evaluation in the university; (2) to consider matters of general academic interest either on its own initiative or on a reference form the faculty of the University or the board and to take appropriate action thereon; (3) to recommend to the board, such as are consistent with this Act regarding the academic functioning of the University including discipline of the students and (4) to exercise such other powers and perform such other functions as may be conferred upon it by the regulations.
