In this Act unless there is anything repugnant to the subject or context,- (1) “The Gandhi National Memorial Fund” means the fund known as the Gandhi National Memorial Fund started under the auspices of the President of the Indian National Congress; (2) “local authority” means a municipal corporation constituted under the Bombay Municipal Corporation Act, or the Bombay Provincial Municipal Corporations Act, 1949, or a municipality constituted under the Bombay District Municipal Act, 1901, or the Bombay Municipal Boroughs Act, 1925, or a district local board constituted under the Bombay Local Boards Act, 1923, or a village panchayat constituted under the Bombay Village Panchayats Act, 1933.
