(1) The Vice-Chancellor shall be the principal academic and executive officer of the University responsible for the efficient functioning and development of academic programmes of the University. He shall oversee and monitor the administration of the academic programmes and general administration of the University to ensure efficiency and good order of the University. (2) He shall be entitled to be present, with the right to speak, at any meeting of any authority or body of the University, but shall not be entitled to vote thereat, unless he is the Chairman or member of that authority or body. (3) It shall be the duty of the Vice-Chancellor to ensure that the directives of the State Government, if any, and the provisions of the Act, the Statutes, the Ordinances and the Regulations are strictly observed and that the decisions of the authorities, bodies and committees which are consistent with the Act, the Statutes, the Ordinances or the Regulations are properly implemented. ____________________________________________________________________
