The Academic Council shall exercise the following powers and perform the following functions, namely:- (i) to exercise and control over the academic policies of the University and shall be responsible for the maintenance and the improvement of standards of instruction, education evaluation and research; (ii) to consider the matters of general academic interest either on its own initiative or on reference from the Board of Studies or the Council of Post-Graduate Studies and Research and to take appropriate action thereon; (iii) to recommend to the Board of Governors such regulations as are consistent with this Act regarding the academic functioning of the University including discipline of the students; (iv) no academic programme, curriculum, syllables, or method of instructions shall be implemented without the approval of the Academic Council; and (v) to exercise such other powers and perform such other functions as may be conferred or imposed upon it by the regulations. 11-14 GUJARAT GOVERNMENT GAZETTE, EX. 06-04-2021 [ PART IV Powers and functions of the Council of Post- graduate Studies and Research.
