(1) Subject to the provisions of sub-section (2), the following persons shall be entitled to have their names entered in the register of registered graduates or to be registered graduates, namely :- (a) persons who are the graduates of the University; (b) persons who hold any degree or diploma or certificate in Ayurved after having passed before the commencement of this section any examination held by the Faculty or any other body or authority and such examination is prescribed by the Statutes to be equivalent to an examination qualifying for any degree of the University; (c) persons who immediately before the commencement of this section, were practising as registered medical practitioners under the Gujarat Medical Practitioners' Act, 1963 and are certified by the Gujarat Board of Ayurvedic and Unani Systems of Medicine as practising Ayurvedic System of medicine within the meaning of this Act. (2) Every person who intends to be a registered graduate shall make an application to the Registrar in such form and on payment of such fee as may be prescribed by the Statutes. The Vice-Chancellor shall, after making such inquiry as he thinks fit, decide whether the applicant is entitled to be or not to be a registered graduate.
