Power of State Government to include certain areas within the limits of the City.— (1) The State Government may having regard to the factors mentioned in clause (2) of article 243-Q of the Constitution of India, by notification in the Official Gazette and in such other manner as it may determine, declare its intention to include any further or more areas other than those mentioned in Schedule I, within the limits of the City any specified area in the neighbourhood of the City. (2) If the local authority having jurisdiction in the said area or any person resident therein objects to such declaration, such authority or person may submit an objection in writing to the State Government within such period as may be specified in this behalf in the said notification; and the State Government shall take such objection into consideration. (3) When the said period has expired and the State Government has considered any objections under sub-section (2), the State Government may by notification include such area or any portion thereof within the limits of the City.
