Restrictions on carriage of patient or dead body in public conveyance.— (1) No person who is suffering from a dangerous disease shall enter, or cause or permit himself to be carried in, a public conveyance, nor shall any other person knowingly cause or permit a person in his charge and suffering from a dangerous disease or the dead body or any person who has died from such disease to be carried in public conveyance without— (a) previously notifying to the owner, driver, or person in charge of such conveyance that he is so suffering, and (b) taking proper precautions against the spreading of such disease. (2) Notwithstanding anything contained in any enactment relating to public conveyances for the time being in force, no owner or driver or person in charge of a public conveyance shall be bound to carry any person suffering as aforesaid or any such dead body in such conveyance, unless payment or tender of sufficient compensation for the loss and expenses he must incur in disinfecting such conveyance is first of all made to him. --102-- (3) No owner, driver or person in charge of a public conveyance shall knowingly carry or permit to be carried in such conveyance any person suffering as aforesaid or any such dead body in contravention of sub-section (1).
