Power of Medical Officer of Health to remove patient to hospital in certain cases.— (1) When, in the opinion of the Medical Officer of Health, any person is suffering from a dangerous disease and is also without proper lodging or accommodation or is lodged in such a manner that he cannot be effectually isolated so as to prevent the spread of infection, and the said officer considers that such person should be removed to a hospital or place at which patients suffering from such disease are received for medical treatment, he may, with the approval of the Commissioner, direct or cause the removal of such person to such hospital or place: Provided that all costs incurred for the removal and the treatment of any such patient shall be borne by the Corporation: --100-- Provided also that, if any such person is a woman, she shall not be removed to any such hospital or place unless the same has accommodation for women, of a suitable kind, and set apart from the portion assigned to males. (2) Any person having charge of a person in respect of whom an order is made under sub-section (1) shall obey such order.
