( 1 ) Forthe purpose of adjudging penalty under section 33, the Srae Cammission shall authorisc any of its member la be an adjudicating officer for holding an inquiry in the prescn%cd manner aflcr giving any person concerned a reasonable opportunity of being heard for the purpose of imposing any penalty. ( 2 ) While hold~tg an inquiry the adjudicating oficershall have power to summon and cnlorct the attendance of any person acquainted with the facts and circurnsiatrces of the case to give evidence or to produce any document which in the opinion of the adjudicating officer, may be useful for or relevant to the subject matter of the inquiry and if, on such inquiry, hc is satisfied that the person has failed to provide lhe rcliefrccom~ndcd by the District Grievance Redressal ORcer, withour reasonable cause, or witfully ignored such recommendation, hc may impose such penaliy BS he thinks fit in accordance with the provisions of section 33.
