Insertion of section 14A

Insertion of section 14A.— After section 14 of the principal Act, the following section shall be inserted, namely:— “14A. Penalty for resale of tickets and cognizance of offence.— (1) Notwithstanding anything contained in section 56 of the Indian Easements Act, 1882 (Central Act 5 of 1882), a ticket for admission to a cinematograph exhibition shall not be resold for profit by the purchaser thereof. (2) Whoever re-sells any ticket for admission to a cinematograph exhibition for profit, shall be punishable with fine which shall not be less than two hundred rupees and may extend to five hundred rupees or in default, to simple imprisonment, which may extend to three months. (3) Notwithstanding anything contained in the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Central Act 2 of 1974), an offence under this section shall be deemed to be cognizable within the meaning of that Code.”.
