Recreation Facilities (1) The appropriate Government and local authorities shall, within the limits of their economic capacity and development, promote development and utilization of creative, artistic and intellectual potential of persons with disabilities, not only for their own benefit, but also for the enrichment of society. (2) Without prejudice to the generality of sub-section(1), the appropriate government and local authorities shall take necessary measures to: (a) encourage and promote the participation, to the fullest extent possible, of persons with disabilities in mainstream sporting activities at all levels; (b) ensure that persons with disabilities have an opportunity to organize, develop and participate in disability-specific sporting and recreational activities (c) encourage the provision of appropriate instruction, training and resources; (d) ensure that persons with disabilities have access to sporting, recreational and tourism venues; (e) ensure that children with disabilities have equal access with other children to participation in play, recreation and leisure and sporting activities, including activities in schools. 85 S.
