(1) There shall be a Planning Committee with a person deputed by the Executive Council as Chairman to advise the Executive Council and the Academic Council or any matter which it considers necessary for the fulfilment of the objectives of the University. (2) The Planning Committee shall be responsible for, - (a) the overall planning of the development of the University in the perspective of five years; (b) the delineation of desirable direction of growth; (c) monitoring the implementation of programmes approved by the Executive Council; and (d) assessing the overall performance of the University in achieving targets set for the Plan period. (3) Subject to the provisions of this Act, the constitution, powers and functions of the Planning Committee shall be prescribed by the Statutes. Finance Committee.
