Speaker and Deputy Speaker shall be entitled to,- (a) free furnished residence at Guwahati throughout the year which shall be maintained at public expenses; (b) vehicles including vehicles for securities as may be necessary for security of the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker to be maintained at public expenses; (c) personal staff as may be prescribed; (d) newspapers and magazines as may be prescribed : Provided that the Speaker shall be entitled to the privileges of using the free furnished residence, Government vehicles and personal staff on his ceasing to hold office for such period as may be prescribed. Prohibition against practicing any profession during the tenure of office as Speaker or Deputy Speaker.
