(1) This Act may be called the Assam Official Language (Amendment) Act, 1985

(1) This Act may be called the Assam Official Language (Amendment) Act, 1985. (2) It shall have the like extent as th'e prin­ cipal Act. (3) It’ shall be deemed to have come into force on the 28th day of December, 1984. In the principal Act, after Section 5, a new Section 5A shall be inserted, namely — insertion of "5A. Without prejudice to the provisions new section c o n fa jn e (j jn Section 3, the Bodo Language shall be used as an Associate Official Language for all or any of the official purposes of the State of Assam as are specified in the Schedule, in the Districts and Subdivisions having substantial Bodo population as may be declared by the State Government from time to time.” „ THB ASSAM GAZETTE, EXTRAORDINARY, APRIL 16, 1985 243
