In this Act, unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or con,text,- Treatment (a) "Kala-azar patient" means a patient who has been diagnosed as such by a registered medical practi- tioner, or a medical practitioner possessing a special certifi- cate of Government for diagnosis and treatment of Kala- azar cases ; (b) "registered medical practitioner" means any person registered under the provisions of the Assam Medical Act, 1916. .
