Thwe shall be an Under.Graduate Board to monitor all Under Graduate programmes pertaining to admission and evaluation. The Under Graduate Board shall have the following members, namely:– (i) the Vice-Chancellor; (ii) three persons from among the Professors and the Heads of Depadments of the University selected by the Academia Council; three Principals selected by the Academic Council from the afHlhted colleges; (iii) (iV) tIwe persons who may or may not be members of the Aoadanic Council, nominated by the Vie@ChancelloB ten person to be elected from amonPt the tacItus of the afnHated Colleges; and (V) (Vi) one tnemb€r of the Examination Committee to be naninatod by the Vice<=harweUor. Powers and Duties of 36 • the Under<}raduate Board Subjwt to the provigons of this Ad, dIe Statutes aad the C>rdhance$ the Under.Graduate Board shall have the following powers and duties, namely :- (i) to rwommend to the A£adanic Gounci] the pattern of Under- Graduate courses, the examinations to be held for such comms, and their revisiOn; (ii) to appx)ve the curricula and syllabi for the Under' Graduate cowsa and- -b mcxii8 them wherein n€wssary aBer ooasidedng the rwommend8tiohs of Boards of Studies; (iii) to ro@mmend to the Executive Council for the institution and award of fellowships, scholarships, prizes, honoMfY demos Bad <>the! awwds or bOer ®ademie distinctions and for insthutin8 and conferring of degrees, diplomas, titles, certificates and other_ academic distinctions in the Under -Graduate courses on the basis of exarninations and for the withdrawal of the same; 6528 THE ASSAM GAZETIE, EXTRAORDn{ARE DECEMBER 12, 2023 (iV) to make recalnrnendation$ to the Executive Council for the institution of Professorships, Associate Professorships, Assistant Professorships or other posts of tmctIns nquind for the Under' Graduate Courses and for the recognition of persons as teachers of the University for such eourses, and regarding their emohunents, duties and terms and conditions of their services; (V) (Vi) to recolnrnend to the Academic Council the conditions for the admission of students to Under<318duate courses and to make w8ilatians for their aRendance and progress; to make Regulations with regard to the residence and discipline of 8tudents in the depaltmGnt§ and the affiliated coKeBes and Colleges or Institutions or Centres imparting the Under-Graduate courses and for the promotion of their health and weIfaro; (vii) to make recommendations to the Exeoutiw Council regarding allOcation of funds to the Under.Graduate [bpartmerrts and constituent Colleges or Institutions or centres eng#ged in Un(in Graduate courses or research; and to the librari&s, laboratories, and rnuseums established by the University; (viii) to review the works of the UndeRGraduate departments and Colleges or Institudons or eaRns engaged in Under- Graduate courses and research and to call for a report thereon and to take an steps necessary for the improvement of the standards of research and teaching and other aEairs therein; (iX) to ooasider the measures suggested by the Academic Council on any matter afFecting the acadwric work of the University md to express its views on them; to oonsid@ any matter nfewd to it by the Executive Council or the Academic Cauneil and to submit reports thereon to the Executive Council or the Academic Council, as the case may be; (x) to approve the panels of the examiners for Under Graduate Examinations, with or without modiaGations, after considwing the recommendations of the Boards of Studies and to modi© the same at any time after consultation with the Boards of Studies conc©ned; (xi) to appoint committees and to fix their terms ofrefennw in regard to any aratter within the jwisdiction of the Under43raduate Bmrd.
