the Post<}raduato Board Subject to the provisions of this Act, the Statutes and the Chdiaances, the Post{3raduato Board shall have the following powers and duties:- (i) to recommend to the Acadaaio Council the pattern of Post-Graduate courses, the examinations to be held for such course% and their revision; (ii) to approve the curricula and syllabi for the post<;mduate courses and -to modify than, as ileaned necessary, aR@ considering the recomrnendation$ of Boards of Studies; (iii) to recommend to the Executive Council for the institution and award of fellowships, scholarships, prizes, honorary degrees and other awards or other academic distinction$; and for instituting and conferring of degJees, dpras, titles, cwtifi%tes and otheT academic distirntions in the Post'Graduate courses on the basis of examinations and fort Ire withdrawal ofthe same; (iV) to make recommendations to the Executive Council for the iastitudon of Professorships, Associate Professorships, Assistant Professorships or other postS of teachers requiwd Rv the Post: Graduate Courses and for the recognition of persons as teaches of the University for such coursw, and leWlaing their ernolumentsp duties and terms and conditions of their services; (V) to reeomrnend to the Academic Council the conditions fcv the admission of students to Post- Graduate courses and to make regulations for their attendance and proWess; (Vi) to make Regulalk)ns with regwd to the nsjdenw and discipline of saldents in tie departments and the affiliated colleges and instiWtion$ imparting Post-Graduate courses and for the promotion of their health and welfme; (vii) to make recarnmendations to the Executive Council regarding the allocation of funds to the Post-Graduate Departments and Colleges OF :TjitIuRKS?!!!:l;bY=E:::,P;nT::ljsa:;TbTLojenNI University; THE ASSAM GAZETrE, EXTRAORDngARY, DECEMBER 12, 2023 6527 (viii) to review the works of the Po$tX}raduate Departments and Colleges or Institutions or GenRes englapd in Post.Graduate courses and. wseinh, and to call for a report thereon and to take an steps neoessary for the improvement of the standards of nwawh and teaching and other affairs therein; (iX) to consider the mwsnes sugg8sted by the Academic Council on any matter affecting the academic work of the University and to express its views on them; to consider any matter refernd to it by the Executive Council or the Aademic Council and to submit reports thereon to the Executive Cormoi1 or the Academic Gounail as the case may be; (X) to approve the panels of the examiners for Post-Graduate Examiaations, with or without modifications, after considering the recommendations of the Boards of Studies and to modify the same at any time after consultation with the Boards of Studies concerned.
