In the principal Act, in Section 21, in clause (g), — (i) in the first proviso, towards the end, the portion beginning with the words "No new Degree Colleges” and ending with the words "w ithin the State of As sam” shall be substituted by the words "No new Pre-Uni- versity or Degree College shall be given permission or affilia tion or no such college shall be given permission or affilia tion by the University to intro duce new subject o r- faculty without prior concurrence of the respective Government of Assam. M anipur or Arunachal Pradesh” ; THE ASSAM GAZETTE, EXTRAORDINARY, DEC- 23, 1973 1227 (ii) the second proviso shall be substituted by the following, n am ely:— "Provided further that the respective State Government of Assam, Manipur or Arunachal Pradesh may at any time vest the existing power of the Executive Council of the University of conducting Pre-University Examination in the Board of Secondary Education, if any, of the State with effect from such date as may be notified by the State Government concerned.” U.
