Subject to other provisions of this Act, the District Council fund shall also be applied for the following purposes, namely:- (i) payment of any stipend or scholarship to students in accordance with Rules and Orders of the Education Department; (ii) payment of such sums of money as may be found necessary for construction, extension, improvement and maintenance of school buildings and for provision of mid-day meal, play ground, furniture and equipment; (iii) payment of legal expenses and other expenses which may be found necessary. 6 CHAPTER V Powers of the State Government to settle disputes .
