(l) On and from the date on which this Act savings comes into force the Assam Basic Education Act, Assam Act 1954 shall be repealed. XXVI I954* (2) Notwithstanding the repeal all authorities constituted, appointments, rules, orders or notifica tions made under the said Act shall be deemed to be constituted or made under this Act, and continue to function or to be in force until actions under the provisions of this Act are taken. (3) Any of the provisions of the Assam Municipal Act, 1956, which is repugnant to any of the provisions x v ono-7 of this Act shall stand repealed. J
