The authorities or officers of the University may constitute such committees with such terms of reference as may be necessary for specific tasks to be performed by such committees. The constitution of such committees and their duties shall be such as may be prescribed by the Statutes or Regulations. CHAPTER-V STATUTES, ORDINANCES, REGULATIONS AND RULES The First 18, Subject to the provisions of this Act the first Statutes of the University Statutes may provide for all or any of the following, namely:- (1) the courses of study to be offered by the University; @ the procedure for the award of the degrees, diplomas, certificates, academic distinctions of the University Honorary Degree; and minimum qualifications for the same; (3) conferment of honorary degree; @ the constitution, power and functions of the authorities and the other bodies of the University as may be constituted from time to time; (5) the terms and conditions of appointment of the Vice- Chancellor, his'her powers and functions; (6) the manner and terms and conditions of appointment of the Registrar, the Controfler of Examinations, the Academic Registrar, the Finance and Accounts Officer and other officers of the University, and their powers and functions; (7) the manner and terms and conditions of appointment of the teachers, their powers and functions; (8) the torms and conditions of service of the Teachers, Officers and employees of the University; (9) provision regarding exemption of students from payment of tuition fee, and for awarding to them studentship, fellowship etc.; THEASSAM GAZETTE, EXTRAORDINARY, OCTOBER 13, 2022 9683 Procedure for Making Statutes.
