(1) The Board of Management of the University shall consist of the Management following members, namely:- BOM). @) | The Vice-Chancellor - Chairpersan; (b) | The Repistrar -Member Secretary; {c) | Two members of the Governing Body (GB) 4 ; nominated by the Sponsoring Members; Body; (d) | Three persons, who are not the members of the Governing Body (GB), nominated by the -Members; Sponsoring Body; (¢} | Two teachers of the University nominated by the Sponsoring -Members; Body; and (f) | One teachers of the University and one distinguished o ;. academician nominated by the Meribety Vice-Chancelior, THE ASSAM GAZETTE, EXTRAORDINARY, OCTOBER 13, 2022 9681 (2) The powers and functions of the Board of Management shall be &) @ ) Academic IC ()] Council 2) The Faculty 15 @M @ €] @ as prescribed by the Statutes, The Board of Management shall meet once in every two months. Presence of Five members shall form the quorum of the meeting, The term of the nominated members shall be three years w.e.f. the date of nomination. The Academic Council shall consist of the following members, namely:~ - (a) | The Vice-Chancellor - Chairperson; (b) | The Academic Registrar -Member Secretary; All Head Of Departments of the {c} | University -Members; (d) | All Professors of the University -Members; (e) | The Registrar -Members; Three eminent academicians nominated by the Vice- (f) | Chancellor -Members; for a period of three years; and Three distinguished persons (g) | nominated by the Chancellor for -Members. a period of three years. The Academic Council shall be the principal academic hody of the University, and shall, subject to the provisions of this Act, Statutes, Ordinances, Regulations and Rules made thereunder, shall coordinate and exercise general supervision over academic policies of the University. . The University shall constitute such number of faculties as may be prescribed by the Statutes from time to time and each of such faculty shall, subject to the control of the Academic Council, be responsible for the coordination of the study and research in the branches presented in the Board of Studies coming under its purview. The term of the Faculty, its constitution and membership shall be prescribed by the Statutes. Subject to the provisions of this Act, each faculty shall exercise such powers and perform such duties as may be prescribed by ‘the Statutes.
