(1) There shall be a 1[ The Director of Research, Agriculture and the Director of Research, Veterinary] who shall be a whole-time salaried officer of the University responsible to the vice-chancellor. He shall be appointed by the Vice-Chancellor with the prior approval of the Board in accordance with the Statutes made in this respect. 2[The Director of Research, Agriculture and the Director of Research, Veterinary] shall be responsible for, the direction and co-ordination of research programme as set forth in section 33 of this Act and efficient working of the research stations. (2) 3[The Director of Research, Agriculture and the Director of Research, Veterinary] shall exercise such powers and perform such duties as may be conferred or imposed on him by the Statutes.
